Committee on Clinical Affairs

The EASD Committee on Clinical Affairs (CCA) is responsible for structuring and overseeing EASD’s activities in the development of formal statements, consensus reports, and other clinical resources that complement the clinical practice guidelines.

Mission

The mission of the CCA is to ensure that any statement, consensus reports or guideline, which is produced and/or endorsed by EASD is appropriate, non-contradictory and consistent with current research findings and best practice in diabetes management.

This supports the EASD mission of promoting excellence in diabetes care through research and education and the stated aims of the Association to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, the rapid diffusion of acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application.

Role

The role of CCA is to advise the EASD Board on all matters concerning statements, consensus reports and other clinical resources and guidelines. The Committee will:

  • Evaluate all initial requests from members of the Association or other institutions or societies concerning the development of statements, consensus documents and other clinical resources, and advise the EASD Board accordingly.
  • Oversee all activities of the Association in the different committees related to statements, consensus documents and other clinical resources and guidelines and advise the EASD Board accordingly.
